TELLER COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Outdoor enthusiasts in southern Colorado have a lot to look forward to next year.
Work started Friday on a new outdoor recreation space in Teller County. The new space will be located at the Rosemont Reservoir off of Gold Camp Road.
The new space is a joint project between Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Colorado Springs Utilities. According to officials, the area has been popular with fisherman for years.
Now, some new features will be coming to the space so more people can enjoy it. When the project is completed, officials say it will have dozens of new campsites, a boat ramp and other amenities for people who are visiting for the day.
According to officials, the spaces could be open sometime in 2027.
