INDIANAPOLIS — A person died late Friday afternoon after a shooting was reported in a retail area on the northwest side of Indianapolis, police said.
Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent just before 5:30 p.m. Friday to 4150 Lafayette Road. That’s the address for a strip mall across the road from the former Lafayette Square Mall. The mall shut down in August 2022.
The strip mall includes an international grocery store, a furniture store, a paint store, a grocery and two restaurants.
Details on the shooter were not immediately available. IMPD was sending a spokesman to the scene to provide more information to the media.
