A South Texas police department says one of it’s officers was found dead inside his Houston apartment last Friday.
Officer Daniel Trujillo, 36, served with the Taft Police Department for three years, according to the agency.
Houston police say Trujillo was found with multiple gunshot wounds at his apartment located at 11070 Katy Freeway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“During his time with our department, he served our community with dedication and commitment, and his loss is deeply felt by those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him,” the Taft Police Department said. “Our thoughts, prayers, and sincere condolences are with Officer Trujillo’s family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched during this incredibly difficult time.”
